BABYLONSTOREN

Feel Good, nature

This place is life. Literally. Babylonstoren is one of oldest Cape Dutch farms, with a huge fruit & vegetable garden, along with two beautiful restaurants, and stunning accommodation. It’s definitely a place to visit, if you’re in Cape Town. There’s a huge prickly pear maze that I couldn’t find, but I did manage to find the two human-sized weaver’s nests, designed by Porky Hefer.

“On a 200-hectare working farm dating back to 1690, this Cape Dutch-style hotel is 13.7 km from Afrikaans Language Monument and 17.5 km from central Paarl.”

Will you be visiting this magical place?

SUPER SUNDAY

Sneaker Fever

Processed with VSCO with hb1 preset

So glad to finally own a pair of these beautiful babies. I think I’m done getting sneakers for a bit now. I’ve gone a little overboard with buying sneakers almost every month!

While I sign off to finish up some work reports, I hope ya’ll have yourselves a super Sunday!

CAPE GARDEN

Feel Good, nature

I had the opportunity to visit this beautiful nursery called Cape Garden in Joostenbergvlakte today, and I really enjoyed the little trip. While I’m the last person talk to or ask about plants, all I can say is that Cape Garden is filled with all kinds of beautiful trees, and plants. I actually found the prices to be pretty great too.

I was finally able to find the perfect sized indoor Delicious Monster plant, and I’m in love with this new addition to my small plants collection.

I also came across Hydrangeas; something I’ve been wanting to get for a very long time. But I have zero knowledge on how to care for them, and I really don’t want to get one and kill it. So, my homework is to read up on them, and understand a little more about them. But if you guys know anything about caring for them, especially in South African winter, please let me know!

P.S. I am in love with all the palm trees at Cape Garden. Truly beautiful.

MONDAY MOOD

Feel Good

IMG_1229.jpg

I’ve been playing around with flatlays lately, and damn, they’re tough to put together. Here’s a standing ovation, and a round of applause to all those who have the ability to put together the most beautiful flatlays we’ve all ever come across.

For now I just play with small props like my Mac and jewellery, while slowly adding in other props like books, clothes, or cups to fill in the space. The key to a great flatlay is literally how you space them all out of the surface. This really proves to be a challenge for me as I’m really bad with arranging stuff, forget arranging them in a perfect grid. Nightmare.

If you’re the ruler of flatlays, please do share a tip or two!

Have a great Monday, ya’all!
